Calling All Beta Readers
The next two books in the Eddie Ankin Crime Thriller Series are coming!
My next two books in the Eddie Ankin series are written! I’ve got some final detail editing to add, but in three weeks both books goto my editor, Donna. This means that it is time to call on all of you interested in becoming beta readers (or advanced readers, if you prefer). If you are interested in being the first to read Book 2 and Book 3 in the Eddie Ankin crime series, please drop me a line here in the comment section or at my email: jelice@eliceislandent.com
I will give you a heads up before the books are sent to you. I am hoping to enlist a good number of readers to get first crack at these books.
Thanks in advance to everyone who volunteers.
In the spirit of these books, here are some details about the next two novels.
Do you know the Hawaiian legend of the Night Marchers?
In Hawaiian mythology, Nightmarchers (huakaʻi pō) are the deadly ghosts of ancient tribal Hawaiian warriors. They are said to rise from their burial sites or from the ocean, and to march in a large group to ancient Hawaiian battle sites or other sacred places. The Night Marchers are normal-size warriors, dressed for battle, carrying spears, clubs, and beating war drums. They march in darkness after sunset until just before sunrise. Night Marchers might appear during the day if they are to escort a dying relative to the spirit world. Ancient Hawaiian beliefs state that any mortal looking upon or being seen in defiance toward the marchers will die violently.
In Book 2, currently titled Night Marchers, (though it may change), Eddie is enjoying some much-needed R&R in Waikiki, Hawaii, after the whirlwind events of The Double. (available to buy here).
He's taking surfing lessons from a local girl named Mia and relishing the peace and quiet—until chaos erupts at the Regal Hawaiian Hotel. The hotel uncovers skeletal remains believed to be those of ancient Hawaiians, sparking a protest that disrupts Eddie's tranquility. Suddenly, he finds himself entangled with a fierce Hawaiian biker gang and a billionaire hotel owner, both vying for control of the local drug trade. To complicate matters further, his surf instructor, Mia, turns out to be involved in far more than just riding waves.
Did you know there was a bank vault inside the Empire State Building?
It’s true. (see below)
I mention this because this bank vault plays a part in The Crew, the thrilling third installment of the Eddie Ankin series. It finds Eddie in New York, working on a movie when a close friend is murdered. Driven by the need for justice, Eddie goes undercover, infiltrating a crew of elite thieves plotting a daring heist in the iconic Empire State Building. As the tension builds and the stakes skyrocket, Eddie finds himself in a race to find his friend’s killer, facing overwhelming odds in one of the world’s tallest buildings.
