Now time for some shameless self-promotion...
PLEASE BUY MY BOOK. I'LL BE YOUR BEST FRIEND
There is a line from a book or movie or tv show (I think it was either Michael Chabon’s “Wonder Boys” or maybe the tv series, The Affair — I can’t remember the source. But I remember the line).
“Lots of people have one novel in them. Very few have two.”
That’s the gist anyway. That always stuck with me.
Which is why I have a favor to ask. Please buy my new book.
THE DOUBLE
My second book is the FIRST IN A NEW SERIES featuring ex-Marine turned Hollywood stuntman, EDDIE ANKIN.
As I write this blog post, I am hard at work on book 2.
But again, this post is about book one. And it is, as all books are in the end, about you, dear (potential) reader.
Here’s the deal: THE DOUBLE is on pre-order for $4.99. It will be available on July 25th. But, as part of a promotion I’m running, the book will be sold for $0.99 for the first week it is on sale.
This means that even if you pre-order now, you are not charged anything until the book is available (July 25th!), at which point you will be charged not $4.99 but wait for it… $0.99.
That’s less than one dollar. For a kick-ass story. If I do say so myself.
Plus, I’d be mighty appreciative. And, if you like the story, Book 2 is right around the corner.
So, please buy my book. (link below).
I could give the schpiel about all your entertainment choices, all the things competing for your attention, why read a book, yadda, yadda, yadda.
The answer is because there’s nothing like a great book.
A story that sucks you in and stokes your imagination, that transports you to another world, into another life, all while giving your hours of entertainment and enjoyment… that’s gotta be worth a dollar.
And your time. That, which is most precious to us all. So, I don’t ask lightly…
And if you need another reason, do it so my family does not fall into Dickensian impoverishment nor do I slide deeper into the Poe-like madness that has me cackling to myself while pounding a keyboard into the wee hours of the night with only myself to amuse and entertain. After all, stories are meant to be read.
My wife and children will thank you.
My mother will thank you.
And, of course, I will be most grateful of all.
Oh, and if you feel like it, please subscribe to my substack. Now that I am done with editing the book, I will resume my schedule of sharing new posts on Monday and Wednesday. Friday is going to be for short fiction.
