Sometimes, the best way forward is going off the grid. What do Kevin Hart, Steve Jobs, and Batman have in common? They all disappeared before their biggest breakthroughs. In this powerful essay, screenwriter-turned-author Jeremy Elice explores the idea of "going monk"—stepping away from the noise to do the work that matters. Featuring personal reflections and stories from comedy, film, sports, and history.
Hell or High Water was fantastic (Comanche references galore), Wind River was exceptionally brutal but I very much enjoyed that too, Mad Max endings never get old.
I think the best thing I've ever seen that he's been involved in is 1883. In parts, Yellowstone got a little too much like Tony Soprano in a cowboy hat to me. But 1883 was just exceptional at the depicting the harsh realities of frontier living. Or should that be frontier dying?
Then I strongly recommend 'Empire of the Summer Moon' by SC Gwynne.
It's all about the Comanche, but it also tells the story of the Parker family, but particularly Cynthia Ann.
I won't spoil anything, but it really makes you wonder why someone hasn't made a movie fully dedicated to her and her family's story. It's absolutely riveting.
My mind is actually blown that Taylor Sheridan wrote Sicario. I had no idea!
yeah, his is a great success story. Ever see Hell or High Water or Wind River? both excellent.

Just started 1883. Love the first episode. Big fan of that period.
